Photography in My Art Practice

Photography is an integral part of my art practice. I often use it alongside sketching as a reference for larger paintings. However, these images go beyond being mere references—they capture the essence of the scene or subject and stand as expressions in their own right.

While photography and painting are entirely different mediums, each offers its own way of capturing and interpreting a scene. Painting, in particular, requires a depth of time and process that offers a completely different level of engagement with the subject than photography.
